BE GREAT Foundation is thriving thanks to volunteers across the country supporting our mission to improve the lives of children with immune deficiency.  The day to day operations are led by our core team below.

Alison R. Plotas, President

Alison is the Co-Founder of the BE GREAT Foundation.  Alison has professional experience in strategy, management, and business process consulting to government, industrial, and commercial clients. Alison is a PMI Certified Project Management Professional and has a B.A. in Business and Studio Arts from Lake Forest College, in her home state of Illinois. Beyond BE GREAT, Alison is also volunteering her time on various Parent Advisory Councils at Children’s National Medical Center to share Alexander’s journey and her family’s experience with others.


Donna Meacham Blackman, Treasurer

Donna Meacham Blackman is Vice President, Development Asset Management for Marriott International, Inc. Donna has held several finance leadership positions at Marriott including Vice President, Finance Global Lodging Services, Vice President Investor Relations and Director, Financial Reporting and accounting policy. Prior to joining Marriott in 1999, Donna was a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP in New York and Washington, D.C, where she served a variety of both public and private clients in the financial services, broadcasting, University and Not for Profit industries.

Beyond BE GREAT Foundation, Donna currently serves as the Audit Chair for the National Education Association Foundation and previously served on the Board for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Inroads, the Women and Family Issues Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and as Vice President of the Washington D.C. chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Donna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from North Carolina State University and an MBA degree from the University of Maryland Robert H Smith School of Business


Kim Sullivan, Special Events Director

Kim Sullivan is a Principal with OPX, a design consultancy in Washington, DC dedicated to providing operational results for clients. Ms. Sullivan is OPX’s team leader for the Integrated Operating Environment process – a holistic workplace methodology that goes beyond traditional design by aligning culture, technology, and the workplace to optimize performance. The confluence of design and business thinking yields real bottom-line results: improved employee satisfaction and retention, greater workflow efficiencies, and increased shareholder value.

Additionally, Kim is a founding member and serves on the Executive Committee for DCBIA's Leaders in Development (DLD).  The DLD mission is focused on building tomorrow's future leaders in the real estate industry and has built a membership base of over 300 members since 2010.   

Kim holds an MBA from the Smith School at the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s of science in interior design from Virginia Tech.
